On the 6October the Commission published its proposals for the Regulation covering all the EU structural instruments and the legislative package of EU regional, employment and social policy for 2014-2020.

Brussels, 13-14/10/2010 Two legislative proposals have been put forward by the European Commission in July this year concerning the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purpose of seasonal work and in the framework of an intra-corporate transfer (ICT).

Context The ETUC adopted a resolution in October 2009 on “climate change, new industrial policies and the ways out of the crisis” including strong and ambitious policy recommendations. The ETUC called on the European Union to consider workers and their representatives as crucial players with whom the European Union must engage in a dialogue and negotiate the transition to a low carbon economy that will provide sustainable jobs and social progress.

This commitment also includes the fight for equal treatment and non-discrimination, respect and dignity for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and trans-gendered workers (LGBT). Brussels, 12/12/2009 The European Commission presented – as part of the ‘Renewed Social Agenda’ on 2 July 2008 – a proposal for a directive on patients’ rights in cross-border healthcare. The objective of the proposal is to determine how patients can exercise their right - which has been recognised by the European Court of Justice (EJC) - to seek healthcare in other Member States.
