“For the first time for many years, through the Europe 2020 strategy, the EU has put industrial policy back on the political agenda. In yet rhetoric on managing and anticipating change is not translating into action for workers hit by short-term, profit-led management decisions”, stated ETUC Confederal Secretary Judith Kirton-Darling. “The ETUC stands together with the workers in Seraing and across Europe, calling for investment in people and innovation through concrete EU industrial policies, and against the siphoning off of profits and deindustrialization”.
